✨ A breathtaking fusion of "Yoshiwara Courtesans" and "Ikebana" (Japanese flower arrangement)!

This is a meticulous replica of "Hitome Senbon" (A Thousand Trees at a Glance), published in 1774. It was the very first book independently produced by the legendary pop-culture publisher, Juzaburo Tsutaya.

To attract more customers to the Yoshiwara entertainment district, Tsutaya came up with a brilliant and poetic idea: instead of drawing portraits of the beautiful courtesans (Oiran), he had the famous Ukiyo-e master Shigemasa Kitao represent each woman as an elegant "Ikebana" flower arrangement! Each flower beautifully captures the personality and rank of the courtesans.

Interestingly, this book was funded by sponsors from Yoshiwara, making it a historic pioneer of modern "crowdfunding" and sponsored magazines.

Every book is carefully hand-bound by skilled craftsmen using the traditional "Watoji" (Japanese stab binding) method, preserving its historical beauty.
