At the time, the government launched strict political reforms, forcing samurai to study hard and train in martial arts. This comic secretly mocked those harsh new laws by setting the story in the ancient Kamakura period. It hilariously depicts samurai being tested and sorted into "scholars," "warriors," and "lazy bums," exposing the hypocrisy and laziness of the warrior class.

The book became an unprecedented smash hit in Edo! However, the government was furious. They strictly banned the book, and the author was forced to stop writing comics forever.
