This is an authentic replica of "Jidai Sewa Nicho Tsuzumi," a masterpiece "Kibyoshi" (Edo-period comic book) published in 1788. It was created by the genius comic writer Santo Kyoden and published by the legendary pop-culture producer Juzaburo Tsutaya.

On the surface, the story is a hilarious parody of a famous ancient samurai rebellion (The Masakado Rebellion). Instead of fighting with swords, the rebel leader and the hero battle it out using bizarre magic tricks, cooking contests, and modern Edo-period gadgets!
