This is an authentic replica of "Shingaku Hayasomegusa," a brilliant "Kibyoshi" (Edo-period comic book) written and illustrated by the genius Santo Kyoden in 1790.

Long before modern psychology and animated movies about emotions, this comic visualized the battle inside the human mind! The story follows a serious, hardworking man who gets possessed by "Akudama" (evil spirits). He suddenly turns into a wild playboy, wasting his money in the Yoshiwara entertainment district. Eventually, a philosopher cures his mind, driving out the evil and bringing back the "Zendama" (good spirits).

[Cultural Impact]
This exact book is historically famous for inventing the visual designs of "Zendama" (a character with "Good/善" written on its face) and "Akudama" (a character with "Bad/悪" on its face). These iconic designs and concepts are still heavily used in Japanese Anime, Manga, and video games today!
