✨ A monumental masterpiece of medical history! The very first Western anatomy book translated and illustrated in Japan.
This is an authentic replica of "Kaitai Shinsho" (The New Text on Anatomy), published in 1774. This groundbreaking book revolutionized Japanese medicine and triggered the "Rangaku" (Dutch/Western learning) movement in the Edo period.
[The Art of Science]
While the main volumes contained the translated medical text, this specific volume contains the "Preface & Anatomical Plates"—making it the most visually striking and highly prized part of the series. Drawn by the samurai artist Odano Naotake, these illustrations perfectly blend Western scientific accuracy with the refined aesthetic of traditional Japanese woodblock printing.
From skeletal structures to internal organs, the vintage anatomical art in this book is breathtakingly beautiful and treasured by collectors worldwide.
Every book is carefully hand-bound by skilled craftsmen using the traditional "Watoji" (Japanese stab binding) method, perfectly recreating the authentic look and feel of the 18th-century original.
An ultimate museum-grade treasure for medical professionals, science historians, and lovers of vintage anatomical art!
